Luke 17:1-37 "The Disciples Duty"
In Luke 17, Jesus directs his attention and teaching to his disciples in order to address the duty of a follower of Christ. He explains that it is our duty to watch ourselves (1-3), forgive others (4), have faith (5), be thankful (11-19) and be prepared (20-37).For more information about Soma Los Angeles, please visit us at www.somacommunities.org Download today's message here

Luke 16: Faithful Stewards
Jesus challenges our assumptions about how we spend our time, money, talents and treasures by asking us who our resources truly belong to. If we belong to Christ, then we will serve God and use money. The alternative is to serve money and use God for our own purposes. In Luke 16, Jesus addresses the issue of stewardship in 3 areas: our finances, the Gospel, and our very lives.

Luke 15: Lost & Found
In Luke 15, Jesus uses three parables to describe the joy in heaven when one sinner repents. He tells stories of a sheep and coin that were lost, but found, and the pursuit of a loving Father towards two sons who were lost.

Opposition & Warnings, Pt.II (Luke 12)
As opposition to Jesus' ministry begins to mount, we see encounters between Jesus and the crowds, The Pharisees and the Lawyers. Jesus uses this occasion to warn to His disciples against hypocrisy, covetousness, anxiety and spiritual carelessness.

Being & Doing (Luke 10:1-42)
We love to define ourselves by what we do, or our accomplishments, but Jesus makes it clear to His disciples that even more important than what we do is who we are. Through His teaching on being ambassadors, being good neighbors and being worshippers, we see that our doing proceeds from our being, and our focus is to be on who we are in Christ first (10:20), then what we do as His followers.

Disciples of Jesus (Luke 9:1-62)
As Jesus sends out His disciples to do what they had seen Him do, He teaches them what it means to be sent with His power, by His authority. We then see teaching on the hindrances to being a disciple: a lack of faith, a lack of compassion, a lack of humity and a lack of commitment.
