Opposition & Warnings, Pt.II (Luke 12)
As opposition to Jesus' ministry begins to mount, we see encounters between Jesus and the crowds, The Pharisees and the Lawyers. Jesus uses this occasion to warn to His disciples against hypocrisy, covetousness, anxiety and spiritual carelessness.

Being & Doing (Luke 10:1-42)
We love to define ourselves by what we do, or our accomplishments, but Jesus makes it clear to His disciples that even more important than what we do is who we are. Through His teaching on being ambassadors, being good neighbors and being worshippers, we see that our doing proceeds from our being, and our focus is to be on who we are in Christ first (10:20), then what we do as His followers.

Disciples of Jesus (Luke 9:1-62)
As Jesus sends out His disciples to do what they had seen Him do, He teaches them what it means to be sent with His power, by His authority. We then see teaching on the hindrances to being a disciple: a lack of faith, a lack of compassion, a lack of humity and a lack of commitment.

How Then Shall We Live, Pt. II: The Nature Of The Church
What does it mean to be the Church? How do we live our lives as a response to what God has done for us in Christ? What corporate application is there? This week, we will explore the idea that our Theology (what we think about God) dictates our Missiology (What we think about Christ's mission), which informs our Ecclesiology (How we structure the family of God, the Church.

How Then Shall We Live, Pt1: The Supremacy of Christ (Col 1:15-23)
As we begin a series looking at the nature of the church, we must first look at the nature of Christ. It is impossible to know who we are to be if we do not know the one whose image we were created to reflect. We will start by focusing our attention on Jesus, the head of the church.

The Advent of Joy
On the third Sunday of Advent, we anticipate the joy that the birth of Christ brings. Far more than simply happiness, this joy comes from the promise that all things work together for our good, that only Jesus can promise. We can take joy in the fact that even if things today are not as they should be, there is a future glory that those who put their hope and trust in Christ can have.

The Advent Of Peace
As we celebrate Christmas, the use of the advent liturgy helps us to focus on Jesus as the object of our anticipation. In sharp contrast to the enforced peace under the Roman rule of the time, Jesus came to introduce a peace that comes from the heart, not the law. The first Christmas introduced the world to the only one able to reconcile mankind to God and each other.

Identity: Servants & Disciples
Who is the Church? What are they called to do in the world today? The Delays of God (Luke 8:26-56)
How do we respond when Jesus seems absent, or unconcerned? When we begin to follow Christ, we realize very quickly that He does not work on our timetable. Looking at two stories today of a delayed exorcism and a delayed healing, we see how we can handle situations when God seems late.

The Environment and The Mission of God (Genesis 1:22-28)
This week James Mason explores the biblical foundations of environmental stewardship by looking at the account of creation in Genesis. Creation has an intrinsic sacredness that reflects the glory of God. As stewards of creation we must protect and defend it. Our good stewardship also reflects the mission of God and points toward the day when Christ will make all things new for His glory.
