Holding Fast to Our Hope (Hebrews 10:19-39)

Drew Jackson addresses the warning of rejecting Jesus as the only sacrifice for sin and the consequences for doing so. Instead the author of Hebrews encourages us to draw near to God, hold fast to the hope we have confessed, and the importance of community.

Jesus is Better Than Angels (Hebrews 1:1-2:4)

We begin our study through the Book of Hebrews by looking at the superiority of Jesus to all created beings. The author of Hebrews tells us that Jesus, as the "exact imprint of God" is far above all angels, or any other created thing.

Stewardship: Managing Our Treasure Well (Pt. 4)

A major theme of both the Old and New Testaments is the idea that everything was created by God, through God, and is ultimately for God (Col. 1:16). Because of His ownership of our lives, and the things in it, the follower of Jesus should want to know how to manage that which belongs to God well. During this series, we looked at becoming better stewards of our time, talents, and treasure to the glory of God.

The Will of God Part III

How do I know what God wants me to do? What is the will of God for my life? These are big questions that every follower of Jesus has asked. For the next three weeks Pastor Mike is going to be taking us through a study of what the Bible does and does not teach regarding divine guidance in decision making, letting what the Bible clearly says is the will of God inform those decisions which aren't so clear, and talk about how to make decisions honoring to God regardless of the outcome.

Worship Through Rest (Hebrews 3:7-4:13)

Pastor Mike will wrap up our series on worship by addressing how God asks us to imitate Him by resting from our works one day a week as He did. It is impossible to worship God as Lord if we are unable to rest, and allow Him to govern the universe without our help. In order for our work to be done as an act of worship, we will need to rest as an act of worship. Only then will our jobs and ministries be done as a response to God, rather than in a desire to be God.

Mission Motivated by Worship

This week Pastor Kris Brossett teaches us how mission must always be an expression of our personal worship. He also talks about how the primary thing we are calling people to in mission is worship. God is the author and initiator of salvation, which means it is not up to us to convince and change hearts, but to point people to the God of the universe who does. He is worthy of worship.

Work as Worship

We are often taught by the Church how not to worship our work, but rarely are we taught how work itself can be an act of worship to God. Pastor Kurt explores this week how our 9-5 job can become an expression of true worship rather than simply a result of the curse.

Suffering that Produces Worship

To suffer is to be human. We all suffer because we are all sinners and live in a world marred by sin. This week Pastor Kurt will teach us how to identify with Paul, the apostles, the prophets, and Christ himself in the promise, purpose, and power of God in suffering that produces worship.

We are Worshippers

We are all Worshippers. This week Pastor Kris Brossett discusses how worship is not just something we do on Sundays, and is not an event, but a lifestyle. Worship begins in understanding who God is. We are worshipping something, is it God?

12 Angry Men: Malachi

Malachi reminds the people, who have settled into a complacent lifestyle a decade after the rebuilding of the temple, of God's glory and greatness. Even though God does not appear to be doing anything, His people must walk by faith, not by sight, and hold fast to the covenant they have made with their God and each other.
