The Kingdom of God, Pt I (Luke 6)

Before launching into the Sermon on Mount, we take a break to examine what exactly the Kingdom of God is, what it looks like, where it is, and what citizens of that Kingdom look like. The rest of this three part study on the KIngdom will be given towards looking at specific values and ethics in the Kingdom of God, as seen in the Sermon on the Mount.

The Community of Christ (Eph. 2:11-22)


This week, Pastor Mike Brown teaches about the community of Christ from Ephesians 2. In this passage, Paul admonishes the new Christians that we can now experience true community with others like and unlike us by remembering who we were when Christ saved us, remembering that Christ is the creator of this new community and remembering what the purpose of this community is.

Do You Know God? (Matthew 7:21-23)


In Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus warns us that some who think they know Him will be surprised. Kris Brossett asks the same question at Tribe this morning: "Do we know God"? Looking at the lives of the scribes and the pharisees, two groups who thought knowing God was synonymous with knowing about God, is instructive for us today. Kris shows us that it is not enough to substitute information about the Bible without a true experience with the Living God through Jesus Christ.
